Don't Hyde the Bluesman ZYDE.COM review July 2000

Never heard of Josh Hyde? Don't worry, you will. This fresh Louisiana talent has just released his second CD, and his youthful enthusiasm is going to earn him recognition throughout the business. Apparently, we're not alone in our opinions: the Alexandria Daily gave Hyde an excellent review in their April 3rd, 2000 edition

Josh Hyde is fresh. His vocals have a souful Blues timber, but don't sound like's he's been hanging out in smoke-filled joints for forty years. His Blues and Blues-rock songwriting and guitar play are instantly likable, and at the same time, bring out the gut-wrenching Blues of the old masters.

"The Edge of Love" is Hyde's second release on his independent record label, available from his website and Louisiana Music Factory. And, while the songwriting covers quite a range of Blues niches, we mostly enjoyed these tracks: the excellent Blues-Rock of the title track, the solid guitar work of "Friction, Baby", the straight-ahead Blues instrumental "Serenity", and the disk's best track: "The Hands of Time."

One of the cool things that Hyde has done is to make a complete release of the song " Friction Baby " (in full CD quality!) available as a free MP3 download! We think this is good marketing, and just a great treat to give to his listeners. You can also hear a small portion of "The Edge of Love" in RealAudio format.

Josh Hyde may be Louisiana 's next great music treasure, but this is one treasure that won't be hidden for long.Visit the artist on the Web at: www.joshhyde.com
